California Nayon

Dr. Katherine Abriam-Yago is a Professor and former Director of the Valley Foundation School of Nursing at San Jose State University. She has taught nursing care of the adult courses to undergraduates and nurse educator courses to graduate students. She is active in several professional associations. She was Chairperson of the Research Committee for the Philippine Nurses Association of America. She currently is a board member for the Philippine Nurses Association of Northern California. She has a mixture of 60 invited and scholarly works. She has received numerous awards and the Presidential Award for Outstanding Achievement in Equity and Diversity.

Rudy Asercion is the former Executive Director of West Bay Pilipino Multi Service Center. Through his work, he mentored disadvantaged, at-risk youth by helping them transition to responsible, productive adults. Mr. Asercion is currently the Northern California Chair of the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) Region 8. He is also a board member of the Philippine American Press Club and the San Francisco Filipino American Chamber of Commerce.
